What is Assistance Abroad ?
It is a cover of the policy for emergency care abroad due to illness or accident, provided that pre-approval is requested and it is not the result of a condition or illness known before the trip.
How do I request assistance?
It is essential that you contact our Assistance Abroad service before going to a medical centre, so that they can authorise the service, by calling +34 91 345 65 84.
What if I’m unconscious and unable to contact Assistance Abroad before treatment?
A family member or close friend can make the call on your behalf as soon as possible. If you travel alone, it will be once you regain consciousness. However, it’s essential that the call is made before you depart from the country.
What is covered ?
Coverage for medical emergencies abroad is provided up to a specific limit per year, which varies based on the policy you have chosen. Please refer to your personal terms and conditions or check MI SANITAS for detailed information about your coverage amount.
How long do I have coverage?
For 90 consecutive days from the time the insured leaves Spain.
Do I have to show any kind of documentation?
Assistance Abroad will ask you for the travel documents (for example: transport tickets, payments at petrol stations or tolls, if you travelled in your car), and once they manage your reimbursement request, they will ask you for the medical reports, invoices and payment receipts in English.
